My first Week in Acre
My boyfriend and I have birthdays exactly 6 months apart so on mine, in July, he travels to where I live and after 6 months I go to his place. It's now my turn to move.
It's a bit weird to talk about Acre in English, it's a very non-gringo place, almost every shop is local and non-existent to the rest of the country, or the world, and the whole vibe is very here, people are always talking about Acre or about leaving Acre. Nonetheless I made this promise to myself where every blog post must be in English, so here we are.
The physical process of going from São Paulo to Acre is a very boring one, it involves a lot of money, at least two buses, one metro ride, two airplanes and a good bit of stress; every bit worth it so I can kiss his pretty little face.

My first day here was rough though, even with kisses from a pretty boy. I talked with his family, unpacked my clothes, got dressed and went to party 😎 (with a nap in the middle of it tho). It was fun, I missed having fun.
In the days that followed we did mostly family stuff, greeting and talking to a bazillion family members that, transphobia apart, are a nice and warm group of people, mostly trying their best.

On Tuesday we had Erik's birthday, we ate sushi and drank beer from a barrel. On my childhood my family was mostly spread around the country, I barely had this kinda of casual family gathering, so while I am here I try to make my best effort in paying attention to the family.
My boyfriend is very nervous about leaving Acre this year and I am also very nervous if I can make it worth it; he deserves the world and I intend to give it to him. When we walk around the streets I compare the houses we see with an idea of our future home. Currently my home is him and I am his, but perhaps one day we will have a collection of bricks to call ours.
He is sick right now, but still has to work, here we get sick from the cold of the air conditioner and tired from the sun. We are loved and hated in tremendous amounts, always walking together, me and him, towards the future.

Until later. 🍬
